A new feature in WhatsApp that everyone will love. Prevent knowing that you are in a connected mode (online) in the app

Privacy is very important in social networks and in all the applications we use to communicate with other people, but unfortunately, WhatsApp was not exactly an example of privacy with third-party software that tells us when we contact the app.

The latest WhatsApp trial update to iOS shows us that the company is working on the ability to hide the state of internet connectivity (online) in a future update of the app.

It is that for years, the user community has been asking to be able to hide their Internet status for more privacy, and although we have so far the ability to determine who can see the last time we contacted, profile picture, or even information, we are still not allowed to hide our (online) status in the app.

WhatsApp now gives us the opportunity to choose who can see us when we are connected to the Internet, and we can change it directly from the app's privacy settings as soon as it's available to everyone soon.

As Wabetainfo explains, we will have two new options within the "who can see when we are connected" option between "everyone" or "same last time".

This way, if we choose, for example, "my contacts" last time and later in the new options "like last time", it means that people who are not your contacts will not be able to see when you are connected, one of the main demands of the community.

Although WhatsApp has already listed last year that contacts that never spoke to us could not see the last time we contacted them to prevent third-party apps from monitoring our latest internet-connected situation, the people we're already talking to are still able to see it.

It's a development feature right now, and we don't know when it's going to be available to everyone, but since it looks very advanced and not difficult to implement, we'll probably see it later this year.
